Ms. Esther Adokey
Esther is a programs officer working with Center for Economic Social and Cultural Rights in Africa (CESCRA) located in Najera -Uganda. She works with women, girls, and, communities’ specifically on economic, social and cultural rights and gender equality
With so many gender equality going on especially in the grassroots communities and with the developments and changes in the oil and gas communities many women are affected and Esther helps with these transitions through advocacy and awareness campaigns, Community trainings and Counseling
Esther has over 4 years of experience in a variety of settings in government entities such as Zombo district local government in the community development department and attached to Social Assistance Grants For Empowerment (SAGE), Adjumani general hospital, office of the prime minister refugees desk Adjumani, ministry of internal affairs in the probation and welfare department and non-government organizations such as Another Hope Children’s Ministries ,Big Fix Uganda, with diverse cultures including both long-term and brief interventions. These experiences have given her strong interpersonal and communication skills, giving her natural ability in building relationships with all kinds of people.
Esther graduated with a Bachelors of Arts (Social Sciences) degree from Makerere University Kampala. And also earned a certificate in computer studies. Esther is continuously seeking to gain more skills and broaden her knowledge .Esther uses her free time to read and write.
Esther believes that change happens when people are given the guidance they need to draw on their own strengths and realize their potential to live fulfilling, happy lives. Esther provides an environment of compassion and support to help women girls and communities overcome obstacles to move forward and thrive
